I feel the need to start this post off with a little
"These are a few of my favorite things."
1. MY BROTHER.
2. Traveling
3. seeing my family.
4. My nanas empanadas
and
5. walking in the city.
So that was my 4th of July in a nutshell.
Travis and I took a trip to see our family in D.C.
We left on the fourth, came back on the 8th. So it was a quick trip. But it was nice.
It's always good to see my family.
And let me tell you, it is ALWAYS a blast traveling with my brother.
He can be quiet entertaining. But always so interesting to have a conversation with.
.....
My uncle came to the airport to pick us up (In a taxi! lol, cracks me up.)
he brought along his nephew, our cousin, Gino.
(Who wishes to be just like Travis.)
And he is SUCH a gentleman.
So we pretty much just sat around that afternoon... As you can see in this picture.
We really enjoy each others company.
(We have 4 cousins..
Sasha, 17
Dolci is almost 10
Gino is 7
Julian is 5. I hate that I don't know..)
Snuggles with Julian!
My aunt makes GREAT pies.
My aunt's birthday was back in June, but she had surgery two days before.
Never celebrated.
Cake.
Candles.
Cute sasha! ^.^
One thing I love about going to the city is how much walking we do. My aunt doesn't drive at all. So unless it's raining or it's too hot (in which case my aunt calls for a car) we walk.
Took Gino and Julian to the park.
I actually pulled out my long, lost camera and got cute pictures. I will post those later.
Sleepover with Jules!
Some one may have a 'slight' attachment here...
There's a little store in Adam's Morgan called The Little Shop of Flowers.
I have known the owner Sefika for as long as I can remember.
I always try to make it a point to stop in and see her.
And you know what she does?
She has us make our own bouquets.
Whatever and however many flowers we want.
We get to take home big and beautiful bouquets.
She's really sweet.
Loving some Julian time.
We took a short shopping trip in Georgetown.
(This is my mom's sister BTW)
Dinner with my mom's brother, Charlie and his girlfriend Allison.
And that about sums it up.
I really wanted to be touristy this trip.
It just never worked out.
Another blog post coming this week.
=)
That "family time" picture of us all vegged out is HYSTERICAL! I already miss everybody! Love ya Sis!
